The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) Research Fellowship Program 2027 in Japan is a fully-funded opportunity designed for overseas researchers. Coverage

Successful applicants will receive: - A monthly allowance of JPY 220,000 for living expenses and research activities. - An arrival fund of JPY 120,000. - Round-trip economy class airfare to Japan. - Overseas travel insurance, including medical treatment and death benefits. - Participation in a study tour in Japan, which includes a visit to Hiroshima.

Eligibility

- Open to every non-Japanese national, making Ethiopian students eligible. - Applicants must hold a PhD degree. - Must be not more than 45 years old. - Must secure an invitation letter from a Japanese host institution or professor before applying. - Must be proficient in either English or Japanese language. - Should not have any previous experience staying or working in Japan. - Must be employed in their home country and committed to returning after the fellowship to contribute to their country's development. - Research fields in natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and agriculture are highly preferred.
