Overview

The Quality of Government Institute (QoG) at the University of Gothenburg offers internships for highly motivated Master's students interested in Quality of Government as a research area. This internship provides an opportunity to experience academic work in an international environment, collaborate on research projects, work with various researchers, and participate in seminars and events at the QoG Institute and the Department of Political Science. It offers valuable experience, especially for those considering an academic career. There are typically 2-3 positions available, including General Research and Data Internships.

Coverage

This is an unpaid internship. No financial benefits or stipends are provided.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master's program that allows for an internship as an integral part of their academic curriculum, earning academic credits from their home university. The degree should be in Political Science, Global Studies, Data Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, IT, or a related field. Applicants need good organizational, documentation, and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a good command of written and spoken English, as English is QoG's working language. Knowledge of statistical programs is advantageous. For the Data Internship, basic to intermediate Python programming skills (especially in data manipulation and wrangling), familiarity with pandas and common Python data analysis libraries, a basic understanding of data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance, and familiarity with structured data formats are also required. No specific nationality restrictions are mentioned, making it open to international students, including Ethiopians.

Applications are submitted online through the provided application form. Ensure all required documents (CV, cover letter, English writing sample) are uploaded as part of your application.
