Overview

This is a fully funded internship opportunity with UNICEF in Rome, Italy, for the year 2026. The internship focuses on the Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0) Implementation within UNICEF’s Office of Emergency Programmes (EMOPS). Coverage

This is a fully funded internship. Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend, coverage for travel costs, and assistance with visa costs.

Eligibility

This internship is open to participants from all nationalities, including Ethiopian students. Applicants must either be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, or have graduated within the past two years. A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or data validation is required; this experience can be from internships or academic projects. Candidates must also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an international team environment.

Notes

The intern will assist the Emergency Preparedness team by supporting functional testing of the EPP 3.0 platform, performing data validation and quality assurance, identifying and documenting software issues, assisting with issue tracking and platform improvements, providing user support, and supporting webinars, training sessions, and guidance materials. The role also involves helping to improve emergency preparedness processes across UNICEF offices worldwide. This opportunity allows interns to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to UNICEF’s global humanitarian mission.
