Overview

The Wilson Center Research Fellowship is a prestigious 12-month program for scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals to conduct independent, policy-relevant research in Washington, D.C. Fellows engage with policymakers and the Wilson Center community to address critical global and U.S. foreign policy challenges.

Coverage

Fellows receive a stipend of $10,000 per month for the 12-month duration. The center also covers travel costs for required trips to Washington, D.C. at the start and end of the fellowship.

Eligibility

Requirements

Academic applicants must hold a PhD and have published a book or monograph beyond their dissertation, or at least five research articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Practitioners, journalists, or those from the nonprofit sector must demonstrate professional distinction and experience equivalent to advanced academic standing.
