Overview

The Yale University Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027 is a fully-funded, five-month program designed to build a community of climate leaders dedicated to clean energy. The fellowship begins with an in-person orientation week at Yale University in the USA (February 1-5, 2027) and concludes with an in-person one-week stay in Paris, France (June 14-18, 2027). Between these dates, fellows will participate in six remote learning journeys and a collaborative group project from March to June 2027. The program aims to enhance technical skills, expand professional networks, and connect participants with leading climate experts globally.

Coverage

This is a fully-funded fellowship. It covers round-trip airfare to both Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, and Paris, France. Accommodation in both the USA and Paris, airport transfers, and a daily allowance are also provided.

Eligibility

This fellowship is open to professionals from developing countries in the Global South, specifically from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, or Latin America/Caribbean. Ethiopian students/citizens are eligible. Applicants must be fluent in English, as an excellent command of the language is essential for successful participation. Candidates should have 5-10 years of professional experience with demonstrated achievements at a regional, national, or international level. There is no specific age limit, but the program seeks leaders who are still advancing in their careers. The fellowship is open to professionals from diverse fields including public service, entrepreneurship, energy, finance, journalism, education, research, civil society, law, and legislation, provided they have an established record of achievement in a profession related to clean energy and climate change. Applicants must be available to fully participate in all in-person and remote components of the program.

Requirements

Applicants must submit their application entirely online. A payment of an electronic application fee is required to complete the submission. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact at local, national, or international levels, and show promise for future leadership at national and potentially global levels. An eagerness to expand and deepen professional networks is also important.

How to apply

Applications for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027 are submitted entirely online. Interested candidates should visit the official application link provided to access the online application portal. Ensure all required information is accurately provided and the electronic application fee is paid before the deadline.
