Overview

The Young Journalists Program 2026, hosted by Transparency International, invites early-career journalists from around the world to attend the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) 2026 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This fully funded program aims to build participants' knowledge in the anti-corruption space, offering opportunities to engage in discussions and interview leading activists and leaders.

Coverage

This is a fully funded program. It covers return airfare to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and 5 nights of accommodation (from November 30 to December 5, 2026) at the conference hotel, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner (alcoholic drinks are not included). Visa processing costs will be reimbursed upon prior agreement and submission of receipts. Any other travel costs are the participant's responsibility.

Eligibility

This program is open to journalists from all regions, countries, cultures, and backgrounds worldwide. Applicants must be currently working as journalists with proven experience reporting on social, political, or economic issues. Candidates must be under 35 years old on December 6, 2026, and possess English language proficiency. A strong interest in fighting corruption and learning about Transparency International and its goals is required. Participants must be prepared to develop at least one report and secure media coverage in an outlet after the event. Previous applicants are welcome to reapply.

Requirements

Applicants need to provide their CV/Resume and documents demonstrating work experience. They must also include links to 3-5 recent examples of their journalistic work, explain the topics they plan to report on, and specify the media channels they intend to pitch to. Personal information, contact details, area of specialization, and the place they report from are also required.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted through the online application form. You will need to provide your personal information, contact details, area of specialization, and reporting location. Upload links to your website or social media, and 3-5 recent work examples. Explain your planned reporting topics and target channels. Upload your CV. After reviewing and agreeing to the terms and conditions, click “submit” to finalize your application.

Notes

The International Anti-Corruption Conference will take place from December 1-4, 2026. There are only 10 available seats, making the selection process highly competitive. An online briefing call will be conducted prior to the event, and a dedicated point of contact will be available during the conference to support participants. Transparency International does not provide support for pitching or placing media articles.
