Overview

This is a fully funded international Young Leaders in National Security Fellowship for emerging leaders interested in national security, public policy, and global challenges. The program will be delivered in person in London, United Kingdom, from 7–11 September 2026. It is organized by the Counter Extremism Group (CEG) and focuses on developing leadership skills while providing insights into national security policymaking, particularly in counter-terrorism and counter-extremism.

Coverage

The fellowship is fully funded. The program itself is free to attend. Additionally, CEG provides travel support within the UK, six nights of accommodation, and a small daily allowance (per diem).

Eligibility

Applicants from around the world are welcome to apply. Candidates should be young professionals or students with a strong interest in National Security, Public Policy, and International Relations. Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and possess good communication skills.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a CV and a cover letter. The cover letter should explain: 1) Why you want to join the program, 2) A book, article, or thinker that influenced your views on extremism (200 words maximum), 3) Your perspective on the biggest extremist threat facing Britain (300 words maximum), and 4) A declaration confirming compliance with CEG’s GenAI policy. All documents must be submitted in Word or PDF format.
