The UNICEF Thought Leadership Internship 2026 is a paid internship hosted by UNICEF’s Global Program Division. Coverage

UNICEF will provide visa supporting documents if necessary. Interns are also granted 2.5 days of leave per month.

Eligibility

This internship is open to international students from any country, including Ethiopia. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD program, or have graduated within the past two years. Candidates should be studying a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Development, or Communications. Strong writing and communication skills, good organizational and project management skills, analytical thinking, and an interest in global policy, development, or strategic communication are required. Proficiency in at least one of UNICEF's working languages (English, French, or Spanish) is essential. Applicants must not have immediate relatives working with UNICEF or any relatives in their reporting line of authority. Strong academic performance and motivation are also expected.
